It’s that time of the year again: the Spring 2013 Career & Internship Fair is upon us! Taking place on Wednesday, February 27, from 1-5pm at the Smith Center, more than 100 employers from a wide range of industries and sectors will be on hand to discuss their companies and talk about employment opportunities with GW students and alumni.
But how do you go into a career fair and walk out with a job, an internship, or a promising lead? You need to be prepared – research the employers that will be there, dress to impress and know how to make an impression on the employers you meet.
To help you out with this, we at the GW Career Center have been putting together a Spring Career Fair board on our Pinterest page with advice on what to wear and how to practice your ‘elevator pitch’, that 30-second window when you introduce yourself to employers: who you are, what you’re studying and why you’re interested in their company.
But who’s coming to the Fair, and how can I prepare for them? Glad you asked – our updated list of employers can be found in the Spring Fair Guide. Simply sort through the list of companies and see which ones interest you. (Please note that at the Fair, attendees will receive a print version of the Fair Guide, along with an Addendum that lists 20-25 more organizations that registered after the Guide’s print deadline).
For more information and tips, please consult the Fairs page on the Career Center website: gwired.gwu.edu/career/fairs.
See you at the Fair!
